Payments and Insurance

At Deerfield Associates, Inc., we believe that transparent, accessible, and ethical billing practices are essential to quality care. We follow all federal requirements under the No Surprises Act, which protects clients from unexpected medical bills and ensures clear communication about the cost of services.

Your Rights Under the No Surprises Act

The No Surprises Act requires healthcare providers—including mental health professionals—to give clients who are uninsured or choosing to self-pay a Good Faith Estimate (GFE) of expected service costs before care begins. This estimate outlines anticipated fees for scheduled services so you can make informed decisions about your care.

The Act also prohibits “balance billing” in certain circumstances and increases price transparency for clients receiving mental health and substance use services.

Good Faith Estimates

If you are uninsured or prefer to pay out-of-pocket, you are entitled to receive a written Good Faith Estimate:

  • When services are scheduled
  • Or upon request

This estimate will include expected charges for therapy sessions and any related services, as required by federal law.

Self-Pay Options
